There's an ordinary looking table in the center of our production area that serves as an apt metaphor for The Printery's troubleshooting personality.

Known internally simply as our 'engineering table', it's where department heads gather on a regular basis to analyze, brainstorm and play devil's advocate around ways to best produce jobs entering our system. They discuss how to alleviate cracking, how to address potential ghosting issues, how to achieve blacker blacks, and so on. It's remarkable what ten minutes of preliminary conversation can add to the health of a job.

Likely, you'll never witness these frequent (and sometimes animated) meetings, but what's important is that you know they're a regular event here, that your jobs receive that level of scrutiny. Our penchant for troubleshooting acts to neutralize unpleasant surprises later on in the production cycle. Where others hope, we plan.
